Colorado Springs

We spent last weekend and part of last week up in Colorado Springs. We had delayed the trip a couple of weeks due to the hurricane. Finally, I got to ride an airplane again! There is nothing like an apple juice on the rocks!
We found out hotel, unpacked and then headed back out to do some sight seeing. We headed up into the mountains and enjoyed the fresh air and view.
A short, little hike.
Seven Step Waterfall
Cheese!!!
After a long day...zzzzzzzz.
Garden of the Gods.
Since I am about to completely give up my diaper, I had to find a quiet corner :)
Mountain climbers were climbing up and down all over the big rocks. Babba and I also tried to climb a little, but we didn't get that far up.

One cool dude! Check out my moves! I tried on all the caps and then did my little dance up and down the aisle!
Pikes Peak! 14,110 ft!
We decided to drive all the way up to the top. We had to drive slowly and it took around an hour to reach the top. At around 11,500ft, I started feeling bad and just got worse as we made our way up the mountain. It was the altitude that got to me. So, babba took a few pics and we rushed back down the mountain side. Slowly, I started feeling better again.
Half way down, we came by this gorgeous spot. Pikes Peak is in the back ground, to the left with some snow.
Of course, we paid Santa and the North Pole a visit.
Babba and I were Vikings in the toy store!
We ended up riding most of the rides.
And drove the cars, trains and ski lift too.
We paid Santa a visit. I had talked about Santa all morning, but when I sat in his lap and he asked if I had been a good boy and what I wanted for Christmas, I wouldn't utter a word. I just sat and looked at him!
We stopped for some mini golf on our way home. Babba won and mamma and I shared the second place. I hit the ball once and if it didn't roll close enough to the hole, I just picked it up and placed it a couple of inches away from the hole and hit again. Of course, I scored a lot of "2s" and even got an (honest) hole in one.
What better than ending such a good day at Hooters? The girls were so sweet and friendly with me. I received a balloon and a little rubber duck. Again, I ended up being very shy around them.
Royal Gorge Bridge.
The world's steepest incline railway took us down to the Arkansas river.
The bridge is way up there.
Mamma and I waiting for the rail to take us back up.
Back up on top and enjoying the view. Unfortunately, babba's camera broke and we had to get a disposable camera. The quality is therefore not the greatest. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see a little red dot. This is the aerial tram, traveling over the river.
Here is the bridge itself. Built in 1929, flooring is wooden planks with little gaps between them... a nice, little reminder that it's only 1200 ft down!

Babba tried the Skycoaster.
Long ways down to the river!
After passing bison, elk, riding a horse, we came to a cowboy city.
We visited all the houses. And we saw this angry man in the jail.
Babba and I taking a break in the out house.
Crossing the bridge!
The day is just not complete with out a train ride.
And paying the big train a visit!
US Air force Academy. We saw at least 10 different kinds of airplanes.

Five days, full of activities, car rides, walks...I was worn out and passed out. It was nice to relax out in the fresh air, on the top of a little mountain/park.
When we finally made it to the airport in the afternoon, I was so wound up from the anticipation of getting to ride an airplane again and I was well rested too. Nothing could calm me down. I spoke non stop during the two hour flight home. Two whole hours about plans, cars, busses, trains, santa og other things, we saw. What a great vacation!

Wedding

October 4, Candy and Chris were getting married and I was the ring bearer. I slept in the car all the way over to the place of the wedding. It was held at an old plantation home, called Heaven on Earth. Babba helped me getting dressed in my outfit.
Tadaaa... See!!! One handsome, young man. Suit, vest, tie and even a hanker chief and flower. Instead of the pillow, I carried the well dressed teddy bear.
We had a quick rehearsal before the ceremony. Here is Charity, she is the sister of the bride and works with mom.
Finally, the big moment: My turn to walk down the aisle. Only the bride received more attention :) I walked a few steps, stopped, turned around, unsure of what to do. But then I saw babba all the way down at the end of the aisle and I continued walking. The flower girl was right behind me and everyone smiled at us.At last the bride and her dad. She ended up singing to the groom and the rest of us. It was a beautiful ceremony.
Here are we all lined up.
The wedding party!
Mom's good looking guys.
I grabbed the camera and ordered mom and dad to sit down and say cheese. Not bad!
Babba, I and the bride and groom.
Alyssa, the flower girl, and I. We had a great time. After dinner, we ran around and just played.

I even got a kiss from her!!
Ofcourse, I made friends with the cameraman. I couldn't stay away from the big camera with all the buttons and lights. He showed me the camera and I was captivated!
When the wedding was over, I wanted to stay. I was having too good of a time to leave. This was a great improvement to the beginning of the day, when I refused to utter a word to anyone there.

Congratulations Candy and Chris!!!

Bond.... Benjamin Bond

Bond.... Benjamin Bond!

Don't you think I am one good looking guy?? I will be the ring bearer at a wedding this Saturday. Unfortunately, the sleeves of the jacket and the tie were a little too long and have to be altered. Otherwise, I wanted to wear the outfit on our way home and probably would have wanted to sleep in it too.
Who would have thought that this much Cool comes in this small of a size?
Here is mamma and baby. 29 weeks and 6 days! Mamma is also out trying on clothes for the wedding. She tries, but she'll never be the caliber of cool that I am!

Ike

While most people have more or less moved on, we just got connected with the world again, so here is our contribution to the Hurricane and aftermath.

Here is a link with photos from the real devastation: www.statesman.com/news/mediahub/media/slideshow/index.jsp?tId=119336

We weathered through ok and so did all of our family and coworkers. Mostly trees, branches, fences and shingles lost. And ofcourse electricity and everything that goes with that.

Here are a few photos from our area:

The generator is prepared

Low pressure heading our way.

Morning after. No electricity. Only what a 3.0kW power up.

Some lost pear trees in our back yard

Cleaning up.

The Foreman.

Backyard back to normal.

Taking a well deserved break.

Some were not so lucky.

Neighborhood cook out.
Office clean up. Big tree right outside window.

Missing shingles.

Carl fixing the roof.

Clothes, washed by hand, hanging out to dry.

No computer, but playing with trains instead.

Babba and I at home

Since babba came home a few days back, I have been spending half my days at daycare and the other half at home, working on house projects. This time, we have worked on our back yard entrance. For some reason, grass won't grow in that one spot. After babba and I worked on it, it looks a whole lot better. Now, we have a nice flag stone entrance, rather than just mud.
When we are not working at home, we like to relax by playing golf. I like the big golf course, but last week but it was too warm to play outside. Instead, we played indoor mini golf.
I did really well and on the last hole, the red light started to blink. That meant, I did really well. The light didn't blink for babba..... That means, I won!!
Omma and abbi came over last weekend for dinner. They brought me a football. This is one of those strange footballs. It is not round, so you cannot kick in. Instead, you are supposed to throw the football..... I guess somehow that makes sense...???
Halloween is around the corner.....well, it is actually almost two months away, but all the stores are stocking up on Halloween outfits and masks. We tried some of them on. Babba tried all the scary ones and tried to spook me.

I wanted to try on the masks as well, but didn't like the scary kinds. I finally found a happy mask.... cheese...!!!Benjamin

Motorbikes

A few days back, Mostur sent this photo and told me all these motorbikes drove by her apartment in Copenhagen. "At least 5000" she said... I don't know if she was bragging or actually counted them all, but there sure are a lot of motor bikes. This reminds me of my younger days when I also used to ride around on my Harley.
I think I have grown up some since then and now prefer the slower and quieter motor bike machines at the store.
Oh, and then I have my own Hot Wheels course at home. The cars drive through loops, turns and jump far. They are really racing around on the track.
Not that it has anything to do with motorbikes, but I just want to let you know that my baby sister is now 26 weeks in the making. This picture was taken early this morning, so excuse the lovely hairdo. Soon, I can show baby how to build a big race car track and then we can race each other.
