Cool weather

Since the weather has been a little cool lately, I have had a chance to wear most of my nice and warm sweaters.
I finally fit my leather jacket too. I got it for Christmas last year, but it was too big. Since then, I have really tried to grow some, so that I can fit the jacket this winter.Because of the cool weather, we have had our fireplace going almost every night. Dad and I built the fire and every time it dies out, I reminded dad to go and get more wood (woo). Oh, and I took this photo all by myself.
Since I started computer class at daycare, I have become really interested in computers. My favorite computer is dad's laptop. I practice using the mouse and the single and double clicking. Most of the time I multi click. I like to browse YouTube for videos of excavator. I can sit for a long time and just click on the screen and watch the excavators.
We also built our first Ginger Bread House. Mom, dad and I built the house and then I got to decorate it. I put all the candy on one side of the roof. Unfortunately, the icing hadn't set properly and as soon as we were done decorating, the house fell apart. Oh well, we had fun.

Ouch

On Wednesday, I fell and busted my lip at daycare. I didn't fall that hard, it just looks like it on the photos. I crawled around on the floor and played with all the cars. Then, all of a sudden, I slipped and fell on the car. The handle of the car ended in my mouth. It hurt a lot and I cried a little too.
My lip was tender and swollen and I made sure to remind mom and dad how I was hurt. Today, I am better. The swelling is gone and I just have a little scabbing on my lip.

Thanksgiving week

Hi,

This has been the Thanksgiving week, meaning only three days at work and at school, yeah! I could get used to this. What did we do this week, let's see. Last weekend, I went over to visit John and his parents. John has a lot of toys and he has a big train too. John and I took turns riding the big train. John is my best friend. Then, oh, dad and I went to McDonald's for dinner, since we were not in the mood to cook dinner. When I am in the mood, I will empty the laundry basket, climb in it and then yell: Mammmaaaaa or Babbaaaaaa. But, since it is only a plastic basket, the rides are sometimes a little rough. Instead, I have come up with a genius plan. Now, I put my red chair in first and not the rides are so comfortable.
As I mentioned in a previous blog, we had invited our parents over for a luncheon at daycare on Tuesday. Here are John and I (we always eat at the same table), John's mom and my dad.
Since it has gotten cooler again, we have made a fire in our fireplace almost every night. I help dad carry the wood from the garage and he starts the fire. Then, I keep a watchful eye on the fire and as soon as it dies down, I make sure to make mom and dad aware of it. Usually, before they know it, I am out in the garage looking for another piece of wood for the fire. Oh, and I like to take a bath in front of the fireplace.
Dad's side of my family got together today to celebrate Thanksgiving. We met at my grandparents and I had such a good time. I played with all my cousins and with all the toys - these are some of the same toys, dad played with when he was a young boy. Grandma and granddad had already decorated for Christmas and we sort of celebrated an early Christmas today. Since we are staying with mom's family for Christmas this year, we decided to share some of the Christmas presents today.

Thank you for all the presents! I have played with all the toys and watched the dinosaur DVD this evening. When I am done playing with the toys, I will put all the dinosaurs and the fire engine in the big truck. This way, it is easy to find and right there for the next time, I want to play with them again (usually about 5 minutes later)

Cookie Monster

Last month, we purchased cookie dough for a school fund raiser and a few days back, the cookie dough was delivered. We decided to make some cookies this evening. We put on our aprons and prepared for a messy dough scooping event. Much to our surprise, the dough was already cut in small portions. (It only says pre-portioned cookie dough in big letters all over the box) Oh well, I guess we had fun transferring the dough from the box over on the baking tray.
Then time for the little cookie monster to bake his cookies. He spent the next 20 minutes asking for his cookies. Finally, we all enjoyed our pre-portioned-dough-cookies.

Haircut

My daycare had a Thanksgiving luncheon today and mom and dad stopped by for some turkey and vegetable soup. It was good and I enjoyed having them for lunch. I was a good boy and cried only a little, when they left. Dad came back to pick me up as soon as I woke up from my nap. Since we both needed a haircut, we made our way over to the Sports Clips Haircuts. We sat down across from each other and we both got a hair cut at the same time. This was a really neat place. They had TVs showing sports, the ladies were dressed up as referees and the place was all about sports. I did good and sat still through while the lady cut my hair.
Almost done. Just a few more hairs and see you in 4 weeks.
See how well it went. Well, all the way up until the man the the red shirt decided to join the video.

Water Rocket

Dad is good at building water rockets and I am good at launching them, well kind of. I prefer to hide behind mom while she pulls the string.
First, we fill up the water bottle with water, flip it around and mount it on a pipe. Then dad pumps air through the pipe and into the bottle. The rocket is ready for launch. 3..2..1... We pull the string and...
There it went..... It is a little difficult to capture the rocket at take off, since it just blasts off and is gone way up in the air and up above the trees.
Here is a little video to show you.

Dad is good at this and we had a great time

Birthday Party

Yesterday was my 2 year birthday party. We got everything ready for the guests and dad and I decorated the outside with all the balloons to make thinks a little more festive. We also pulled out all of my outdoor toys and played music. Then, little by little, the guests arrived and there was plenty of activity in the back yard.
Dad sent these big rocket balloons up in the air. They flew high up into the sky and sounded like real rockets. Unfortunately, some of them got stuck in the trees or on the neighbor's roof.
The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to prefer to hang out outside.
Kaitlin made a lot of soap bubbles and Mary tried to pop them.
Cameron, who just moved to our street, also made it to the party. He is only one year old, but he is a really sweet, little guy.
Jemma, from daycare, is from England. She and her mom speak a strange kind of English. It is English, but it is not the English, everyone here in Texas speaks!! I like her way of speaking though.
Uncle Steve and Mary tried to blow a few bubbles.
Finally, cake and opening presents. I didn't have the patience to wait for the candle and song, but poked my finger in the icing and got a good chunk of the yellow icing. Mmmm, delicious.
John, my best friend from day care, and I had our dessert at the little table. He did good and didn't spill cake or icing. I didn't go that good and looked like I was wearing the cake. Either way, it was good.
Everyone had brought presents and I got to open all of them after dessert. John and dad had to help out. First, we read the card, to see whom the present was from and then, we opened the present. After 4-5 presents, I wanted to take a break and head back over to all the games. All in all, I got a lot of new toys: basket ball, cars, trucks, back pack, dvd, dinosaur, fishing gear for the bath tub. Thank you!!
Unfortunately, it got late and dark and everyone had to leave. Thank you everyone for making my birthday such a special and unforgettable day!!! Benjamin

Dad, John and I open presents

Grandma and granddad gave me a basket ball stand for my birthday. John and dad had to help me with all the wrapping paper.

Sumo wrestling wiht dad

Dad and I are part time sumo wrestlers. We stuff a pillow under our shirts and then wrestle each other. I win most of the time. They call me Big Ben.

Some times, we will attack the film crew too!

Texas Renaissance Festival

The weather was perfect on Sunday, so we packed our car and headed out to the Texas Renaissance Festival. It is an annual festival here in our part of the world

The festival area is really big. We walked around for hours and watched all these people dressed up as kings, queens, nobles, farmers, trolls, fairies, knights and a lot of other funny looking people. All the houses were just like in the old days.
We ran into a Centaur.
A lady painted a blue fish on my forehead. I didn't like the painting part, but I was very impressed, when I looked into the mirror.
We saw some belly dancing. The lady also danced with a basket full of snakes. She had them around her arms, neck and on her head.
Babba, mamma and I got to shoot with bow and arrows. Babba won, because he hit the balloon.Mamma and I rode the camel and I loved it. I wanted one more ride when we were done. Finally, the joust. The knights carried lances and bumped each other off their horses.
Here are the queens. They cheered for their knights. Sir Thomas won. We cheered for him too. The queens wore these beautiful dresses and we had to bow when they walked past us.
What a great trip!
