NASA

It was so hot outside today - too hot to spend all day outside, forget spending all day inside our house. Instead, we headed down to NASA Space Center. I took a nap in the car and was wide awake and full of energy upon arrival at NASA - which was good, because there plenty to do.
The International Space Station - or a copy of it rather - was on display. Waouv was the only thing I could say as I quickly ran by it to get to the next exhibition.
We got to see the inside of a space shuttle. Unfortunately, they had put up a glass wall at the very front. I really wanted to push all those buttons! I think I want to be an astronaut when I grow up.
I waved and waved to the astronaut, but he just stood there. Maybe, he took a nap?
This guy was much cooler. He looked like a robot!
This was my favorite display. I could not get my eyes of the cow in the space suit. Moo!
We worked our way up to the second level and I found more cool stuff to see and do. Finally, I got the chance to fly a space craft by myself.
And, I got to be an astronaut too. No sleeping on the job here!
I would love to have some of those remote controlled cars. I sat on the railing and just watched them as they drove around.
More buttons! After today, I really think I could be a great astronaut: I pushed all the buttons, I look good in a space suit, I love airplanes and other space crafts and up on the Moon I can jump really high and far!
We stopped at grandma's and granddad's on the way home. We pulled out a lot of toys and then granddad and I set up the hot wheel tracks. I had a great time. Soon, they will take us to the airport. We are going on the big airplane to visit the Faroes.Benjamin

It's Weekend

I love to blow bubbles and Aunt Elsa bought me this big-bubble-kit that makes these really big bubbles. So, every night, we are outside in the driveway making big bubbles. When the other kids see the bubbles, they want to try it out them selves. I am usually good about sharing and instead, chase their bubbles down and pop them. This morning, after breakfast, we put our plates and cups into the dishwasher. In stead of attempting to start it, like I usually do, this morning, I climbed up on the lid and played drums with a wooden spoon. Both the dishwasher lid and a couple of dirty plastic bowls made a great drum set.
Then it was time to test out all the windows. First the kitchen.
Then the bedroom. See, now I can just sneak in to mom and dad in the middle of the night and they don't have to worry about getting a foot or elbow in the face. I just sleep by the window.
After nap time, the weather cleared up and we went out for a bike ride. We made it all the way to the big bridge and a little bit past it too. We took a break on the top of the bridge and enjoyed the view. I was in awe of all the water right below me and wanted so badly to jump in.
I didn't get to jump in, but instead, got a "real" set of drums when we came back home. I had a great time playing my new drums and soon found out, it was much more fun climbing up on the big "drum".

I am growing

I want to be a big boy so badly and I try and grow up as fast as I can. Last July, I only had four teeth and could only craw around. Back then I was just Superman. These days, I am a big boy! I run and jump, talk up a storm and am the man of the house when dad is at work. And, now I am Spiderman! (If you look closely at my shirt, you can tell).
Today, we watered all the flowers and my shoes (trying to get my feet to grow some too). And then I decided to reorganize the kitchen cabinets.

Pool Party

I spent last night and this morning over at grandma's and granddad's. I was really spoiled and had a great time. When mom came by to pick me up, I was still asleep. I woke up shortly after wards and was not really interested in eating or leaving. I just wanted to play with granddad, grandma and all the toys.

We had a pool party this weekend. It was delayed a week due to rain. The party had just started by the time we arrived. We talked to some of the people and then sat down for a hotdog and chips.
We waited for the Bounce House to be empty and then took off our shoes and crawled inside. I tried to walk and jump around, but it was difficult. In the end, I just held onto the net and then bounced. A little later, the kids came back. One of the girls had dirty feet and they had to be wiped clean before she could enter.
Then, finally, we made it to the pool. I was a good boy and patiently waited while we got ready for the pool. I walked over to the big pool, stepped down onto the first step and then all of a sudden jumped into the pool. Luckily, I had arm floats and I was caught, before, I submerged. There were a lot of people in the pool and I recognized several neighbors and I waved at them.
After about an hour in the pool, I was ready to go home. I helped deflate the floats and pack the bag.
We tried to get a good picture of us at the party. Oh well... here we are.
And, by the way, I now know how to take a photo all by myself. I point the camera, say "chiih" and press down on the big button.
Now, I just have to figure out how to do all those things AND hold the camera still at the same time.
Guess what??! When we arrived at the party, we wrote our names on these tickets and gave them to a lady. She said, they would draw names and some people would win gift baskets. And I won!! I won a basket full of candy, popcorn and two movies. I like pool parties!!

Joe's Crab Shack

Tuesday, we headed down to Joe's Crab Shack. It was just like great granddad's boat house: boats, fish, nets, buoys and so on. Above our table was a giant shark with big teeth. I didn't have time to sit down, but wanted to see everything. When we were finally done eating, mostur and I went outside to play in the play area. The sand was soaked, but I didn't care, I had too much fun!
See, great granddad's boat house with neon lights!
On my way back to the car, I noticed several water puddles. Of course, I didn't pas by them, I passed through them!

Carwash

We were certain, we'd have the car washed before it it got dark outside. But, we barely managed to fill up the bucket with water and soap, and it was dark!
First we washed with soap.
Then we rinsed the soap. Omma climbed up a little ladder and rinsed the roof.
I rinsed the head lights and myself.
Mostur took care of the rest of the car.
The next morning, we realized, we'd missed several spots. Oh, well, the car looked sparkling clean in the darkness.

San Antonio

Saturday morning, we went for a long drive to San Antonio. We slept some, since it was still early and later, I tried to entertain omma and lang omma, so they would not get bored.
We made a couple of stops, one of them at this neat store. It looks like it is about to fall apart. Inside, they have lots and lots of stuff.
We went to the Natural Bridge Caverns first. Mostur and omma went on a tour, while I looked after lang omma and mom above ground.
The caverns are very impressive and they enjoyed the tour - except for a few seconds when the power went out and it turned pitch black.
Above ground, I was busy playing and trying to catch butterflies.
Aren't they pretty?
I tried to dig for gold, but only found a few pebbles.
At the hotel, we stayed on the 4th floor and had a view of the pool. I enjoyed watching the kids play in the pool.
Later, we all got ready and headed down to the Riverwalk for dinner. I loved it, because we got to walk along the water canals, surrounded by trees and flowers and on the river, ducks and boats floated by.
We had to wait for a while to get seated and there were so many people everywhere. We finally got a table.
It was a little difficult to sit still that long. We had to wait for a while to get served and there was so much activity around me. A Mexican band played music and it helped some.
The next morning, we had breakfast and headed for the pool.
I try so hard to learn how to swim. I kick my legs and hold my head up above the water. I looked a little silly with the green thing on my head. It was just another (failed) attempt to waterproof my ears.Lang omma tried to get some sun too.
After the pool, we packed our bags and headed out to town one last time. I went to the park with omma and mostur.
Mom and lang omma went to the mall.
In the end I crashed. Too much fun for me.
Of course, we had to get back home and had a long drive ahead of us. We stopped at a picnic area, played, waved at the cows and a big truck. We finally made it back to rainy Houston.
