Warmer weather
I was sad to see Silja leave. She went to the airport so early on Friday that I was still asleep, when she left. When I woke up and only saw mamma and babba, I started looking and asking for her. Finally, I understood, she had left and was in the airplane.
We started working on the floor in my bedroom on Saturday - yeah! We all helped out removing the carpet and prepared the concrete floor. Then, when it was time to put down the wooden floor, babba took over and mamma and I headed outside to play. A little later in the afternoon, Cameron and his parents came by and we spent the afternoon playing with water and boats.
Sunday afternoon, we went to Kaitlin's birthday party. It was nice and warm when we got there, but it got a little windy later in the afternoon. I liked the pool! There were different opinions on whether the water was nice or whether it was cold. I didn't care, but wanted to keep playing in the pool. Every now and then, I had to get out of the water to warm up, because I was shivering. I kept looking at Kaitlin and Mitchel playing and sometimes tried to copy them. They are such good swimmers. Babba and I practiced and practiced and finally, I was able to swim across the pool on my own (dog paddling with my arm floates of course). I was so proud of myself and I had such a great time, hanging out with my family.
Omma and abbi gave me a Matchbox airport and some airplanes and I have played with them every day. I pretend, babba, mamma, I and the man (?) are boarding a flight at the airport. Then we switch airplane, then we switch again, fly a little and then switch again. In the end, we get in our car and drive home.
By the way, babba finished the floors and we now have wooden floors and tile only, no carpet!! Soooooo nice!

Silja in Texas
I have been at home for the most part while Silja has been here. We have had a good time and have been out and about some. We've been to Mercers Arboretum. It is a big park/nature area with all kinds of beautiful plants, flowers, ponds, fountains and we almost caught a turtle for Silja.
You really haven't been out eating until you've tried Hooter's Hot Wings. Silja did good, she ate the Three Mile Island with out hesitation - this is a really hot sauce.
Silja has also tried to do some sunbathing here. She thinks it is really warm here in Texas and she is trying to catch as many sun beams as possible. Ha ha, take a look at mom and then Silja. Guess who is used to the Texas weather and thinks April is still a little cool and who is from up north and thinks everything above 60 degrees is great summer weather??
I went to daycare today for about half a day. I missed my friends and was a little restless, staying at home with the grownups all the time. Silja, babba and mamma headed down to the Galleria Mall to eat at the Cheesecake Factory and to do some shopping.
They picked me up a little earlier than usual and then we headed home to have dinner and to play some baseball.
I enjoy staying at home and spend time with mamma and babba, but I also enjoy hanging out with my friends. Most of all, I love having visitors!

In the water
Allthough I just stand in the water and do not do much, I really liked the waves. I kept going back out in the water and didn't want to leave.
In Galveston
We went to the beach today - twice!
We slept in some morning, but finally woke up and managed to pack and make lunch bags and be out the door shortly after 9am. After half an hour in the car, I thought we'd been out and about long enough and suggested we go back home. Unfortunately, I was out numbered and we continued. Instead, I just decided to talk and talk and talk about airplanes, boats and candy. When we drove down to the beach in Galveston, it looked like a nice spring day. But, when we got out of the car, we were almost blown over by a strong and cold wind. We sat on the beach for about 5 minutes and then had to head back to our car for shelter...bummer.. Such a long drive and we were all disappointed.
Since we didn't want to just go back home, we headed over to Moody Gardens and visited all the pyramids: the Aquarium, Rain forest and the Science pyramid (Titanic showcase), we also watched a documentary about the Titanic and played outside. Early afternoon, the weather seemed to have improved and we decided to give the beach another go.
This time we had a little more luck. There was still a little breeze, but much warmer. I started our second beach visit by napping for half an hour.
When I woke up again, we headed out to the water. I was not so sure at first and wanted to be carried, but then I got the hang of it and begged mamma and Silja to come with me out in the water. We walked a long way out and we also jumped over the waves.
I built a few sand castles and of course tore them all down again. I also have to work on my tan for this summer.
Three good looking beach goers, don't you think??

Visitors from Buffalo
We went to the airport yesterday - I was sure, we were going to pick up dad, but we were picking up Silja, mom's cousin. First, we were treated to a long shuttle ride all over the airport and we saw all the airplanes. We made it to the right terminal and saw Silja at baggage claim. I was very shy at first and kept quiet. She got her luggage, another shorter shuttle ride and car ride home to our house. We dropped off the luggage and then headed back out for some Mexican food. Little by little I warmed up to Silja and talked more and more. Back at home, mom had the impossible mission of putting me in bed. I had slept extra during the day and was so excited about having visitors over. Finally, I fell asleep.... really really late.
This morning, we were all up early. We got ready and went grocery shopping. Afterwards, we went for a walk, more stores, had lunch outside in the nice weather and just enjoyed the weekend. Oh, I also started putting in the new floor in my bedroom. Mamma and Babba have new flooring in their bedroom and in the living room and I don't think it is fair that I still have carpet. I walked out to the garage, picked up a few boards and carried them into my bedroom. There, I put them down, hammered, drilled and sawed until I was satisfied with the result.
We also enjoyed a Faroese evening with dried fish, potatoes and .....yummi, lots of butter!!
In the evenings, after my bath, I get to spend some time on my computer. I like to play with Thomas Train Online and watch Barney, Thomas or airplanes videos. This evening, Silja, mom and I were all in the kitchen on our computers.
I love having visitors over!!

Great Grandma and Great Granddad
On Sunday, we headed up north to Cleveland, TX to visit my grandparents. The weather was beautiful and it had been a while since we last saw them. As always, the first thing great grandma and I did was to hit the chocolate box. Mmmmmm.... We played inside for a little bit and I played with their toy cars. After a little while, we all went outside and just enjoyed the afternoon out on the patio. Well, they all kicked back, I went to work.
I filled up the watering can and watered all the pots, plants and bushes. I made several rounds and made sure to water each plant every round.
Eventually, I figured out that it was easier to water the plants with the water hose and so I made one last round with it. Great granddad was so happy to have someone help him out in his yard.
When done watering, I picked some flowers for great grandma. She gave some of them back to me and I sat down in the swing and enjoyed the smell of the small, purple flowers.
Mamma is not the only photographer around here..... I am too!!! I took exactly 72 pictures in 4 minutes. Most of them are of shoes and my fingers. Great grandma, -granddad and mamma's heads are nowhere to be found on the photos. I did manage to take some good pictures of the pots.... that is right, I took pictures of each and every pot and bush in their yard.
Cheese, ........ I made it on some of the pictures too!! Of course, we had to go back home. I fell asleep in the car and didn't want to wake back up. Yard work is hard labor.
Guess what??? We went and got some play dough. I played last night and this evening. Everything within a couple of feet of the kitchen table, including my chair are very colorful right now.....I like it...the messier, the better.

This week
Hi, I haven't been blogging a whole lot this week, but that is because this week has been a little busy. A man came by our house on Tuesday to remove the carpet and put down wooden floors in the living room and the master bedroom. When I went to be Monday night, everything looked normal, but when I woke back up Tuesday morning and ran out into the den....I stopped dead in my tracks. All the furniture was gone or moved and some of the carpet was pulled up. I looked at mom and asked her, why she has made such a big mess??!! She told me, that a man was coming by our house to work on the floors and since he would make an even bigger mess, I would spend a couple of nights at grandma and granddad's. I had a great time at their house, got spoiled rotten too. The evening when I came back home, the man was still working. I was so fascinated by the big saw and nail gun and I kept wanting to follow him around. He did a great job and the floor is so nice now! Soon, dad is going to work on the floor in my bedroom too.
We have taken it easy today: Played, climbed up at down the ladder up to the attic and cleaned the windows with windex! I wanted to continue and started to spray down everything else too. I took a really late nap and when I woke up at 5pm, I was ready to eat. I didn't want just anything, I wanted pasta! We got in the car and headed down the street for my pasta. I wanted to make sure, I got my message through and kept repeating: Pasta...pasta....pasta? eat pasta..... On our way back home, we stopped for some ice cream. I had ice cream and mom had a shake. After tasting both, I decided that I liked them both and claimed, they were both mine (in fact, most things are mine). But, I had to make a choice and ended up wanting the shake more than the ice cream.
Spring is here and that means all the kids are outside playing again. Tonight, we all ended up playing baseball.
Lately, we have played with play dough a lot at daycare. I really love it and wanted to pull out our play dough tonight. But, we didn't have any. Instead, we made some magic dough. We made all kinds of shapes and patterns, but in the end, the train cookie cutters were my favorite and we made a few trains. We baked them in the oven tonight and tomorrow, we'll paint them.
