They are here!

They have arrived!

Yesterday, we went to the airport. We parked our car in the parking lot and took the shuttle to the airport. On the way we saw all these airplanes. Some were just about to land, some were taking off. Others were parked at the gate. We finally arrived at the baggage claim and went inside to see if we could find them. And, there they were!!! We spotted a red head first (Aunt Elsa) I was a little shy at first, but little by little, I warmed up to them.

I got all these gifts, clothes and candy from Mostur(aunt Elsa), omma (grandma) and langomma (great grandma). I also got lots of presents from the Faroes. Despite all the heat, we sat outside and enjoyed coffee and dessert. I think they were all very tired.
But.... omma still played with me and we crawled through the big tube.
After coffee, we went inside to enjoy the AC and they wanted to unpack. We made dinner. We had ribs and abba's (granddad's) fish. I wasn't interested in the food as I was too busy showing off.

This morning, I decided I was done sleeping at 5.45. I woke up our guests a little later. We had breakfast and then we headed outside to play and go for a walk. I have gotten so much attention today...just like I like it:)
I did help dad with trimming the trees and the clean up the branches afterwards.
After dinner, we went outside to play. Several other kids came over to say hello and to play with us. Omma tried to throw horse shoes and the kids tried to instruct her. I don't know, but omma handed over the horse shoes and instead, she came over to play badminton with mostur and me.Tomorrow, I have to show you all the neat clothes I have gotten.

A good Sunday

Just in case there is any doubt, we are in Texas:
Sunday morning, we got up early and after breakfast, headed down to Old McDonald's Farm. They had just opened and the weather was not too hot yet. We got some corn for the animals and made our way to the first pen. When we made it to the sheep, dad and I went in side the pen. The sheep were very scared of us and when I tried to feed them, they panicked and tried to run around me. Instead, one of them ran right into me. I was run over by a sheep, I guess. I wasn't hurt, just got a little scared. When I was done crying, we continued and fed all the other animals through the fence.
I got to be a cowboy for a little bit.
Then I found another horse more my size. I still preferred riding on the big horse.
When we were done visiting all the animals, we took a break and had some lunch. After lunch, we went for the car and went to visit great grandma and -grandpa. They love to sit inside and talk all the time, I do not like that at all. So, I grabbed a few cars and headed outside. I chased a frog around, but it kept getting away. Then great grandpa came outside and asked if I wanted to water their flowers.Since I was at it, I watered the pepper trees too.
I am not sure who got the most water: The plants or me - either way, I had fun. By then, I had no extra clothes and had to run around in my diaper only. I didn't mind! Great grandpa likes to tell stories about how things used to be. When I went to give him a good bye kiss, he told me when he was a little boy, his aunt tricked him to get the mail for her, by promising him a Yankee dime.
Still thinking about the Yankee dime story...
Great Grandma has this cool race-walker. We raced around the house. She pushed and I navigated.

Dad and I

Shrimp, mussels and water balloons

On Wednesday, when we came home from work and daycare, dad had made a delicious dinner: Shrimp and mussels. The mussels were my favorite. It was fun breaking the shells open and dig out the meat...
...mmm, good stuff.
After dinner, we went outside to play and little by little our neighbors starting showing up. In the end, we had a big water balloon fight. See my orange water balloon - and it is full of water.

Pictures

Yesterday, we biked over to the playground and in the beginning, I didn't want to do the big slide and I wanted to sit in the baby swing. But, then some girls showed up and I moved over to a big swing immediately. I also tried to impress them by going straight for the big slide. A guy has got to do what a guy has got to do!!Mmmm, dad made us b-b-q ribs for dinner and they were good! I was finally asked to eat with my fingers and not worry about the fork. My kind of food!
This evening, we stayed in our driveway. All the big kids were playing in front of our house and I tried hang around them, but I don't even think they noticed me.
So, I headed for my juice cup and started watering all of our flowers.
The neighbor's flowers were juiced too.
Oh, and I also love to color our driveway! I know my colors most of the time. Sometimes, I get confused.
The great artists also need breaks once in a while.
The neighbor's dog came by and it ended up with a blue ear and a couple of red and yellow legs!.

Father's day, waffles, soap bubbles and rain

Today was father's day here and we had a good time. We started off with kolaches, later ice cone (waffle only) and then soap bubbles. I do not care for ice cream. It is too cold to eat and I prefer the waffle only. It has been raining yesterday and today. I have played inside most of the time and to be honest, I was getting very restless. Finally, it stopped raining long enough to go outside for a little while. We decided to go out and blow bubbles.
I had my struggle blowing soap bubbles. I am getting better though and every now and then, I managed to blow a bubble. Instead, we started the bubble machine and we instantly had millions and gazillions of bubbles!!!
Unfortunately, it started raining again and we had to go inside.. all though, I don't mind the rain at all.
After dinner, it finally stopped raining and we went out for a long walk and played a little with the kids on our street. I hope next weekend will be sunny!

I love escalators

Yesterday, dad picked me up early from daycare and we went over to grandma and granddad. I spent the night with them, because mom and dad wanted to go to the movies. I had a great time and played with all the toys, all over the house. Mom and dad came to pick me up around lunch time today, but before we went home, we all went out for lunch. To tell you the truth, I am not very good at sitting down at restaurants for more than 2 minutes at a time. There is always too much going on and too much to see and do. So, before and after we ate, I took a couple of walks around the place with dad and granddad. I crashed in the car on the way home and when I woke back up, I was in my own bed. Dad was working on something up the attic and I was determined to help him. I am good at climbing the ladder - both up and down. I can do it on my own, but I let mom hold onto my t-shirt, otherwise, she'd be too scared. I also found dad's flashlight and I had a blast with it. I tried to follow the round light on the wall, floor, ceiling... but it is impossible to catch. Instead, we tried to make shadow-figures of dogs, cats and horses. When it gets dark, we will turn off all the lights and only have the flash light and then I can tell you some scary stories.... I can look very scary, if I want to.
While dad finished up his project, mom and I went to the arboretum. I loved to run around and follow all the different paths. I saw a lot of birds and squirrels, but I was a good boy and didn't chase them. I know to stay on the walkway and and not to wander out into the flowerbeds and in between the trees.
The arboretum is very very big and it takes hours to see all of it. We only managed to see a small area, because it started raining and because we forgot to bring the insect repellent. The mosquitoes were everywhere.
But I did manage to play in all - or at least most of the small puddles, ponds, water fountains and so on, before we headed home.
Later, we went to the mall to walk around and to hang out at the play area. I played with all the other kids - big and small. Now, that I am a big boy, I can climb in and out of all the little boats, cars and slides. I don't mind if I am being pushed over, I just get back up and keep playing. Oh.... and I have discovered the escalators!! We rode them up and down, up and down and I know how to step onto them and off again, no problem..... Did I mention, how much I love riding on the escalators and wave to myself in the mirror? When I didn't ride, I stopped to watch all the other people on the escalator. In the end, the mall closed and we had to leave.

Bits and pieces from the weekend

The other day, dad and I got a remote controlled car for me. The car drives round and round and it drives very fast too. All of a sudden, it drove in between my feet and behind me. I tried to follow it, but it was gone. Before I knew it, it had completed a couple of circles around me - while I was still trying to figure out, how it could just disappear between my feet??
[Tetta] Cat (in Faroese: Ketta)... (Actually, meaning squirrel) At the park, I tried to catch a couple of squirrels. I had brought a little box of crackers and at first, I tried to throw the crackers at them. But, then I got impatient and tried to catch them. It didn't go so well. They are just too fast and I am still not that good at climbing in the big trees. Can you see the squirrel on the photo below? I call the squirrels "cats", but that is because they look like cats and just like the cats, they flee when they see me. And, I LOVE cats.
Just as much as I LOVE to slide in the big slide.
And to have a staring contest with dad. No, it is not an actual contest...well, maybe just a little bit. Dad will say: "No" and sometimes, I don't want to listen. Instead, I give him my innocent angel stare while I continue doing what I am not supposed to do. Oh, and in the photo, we are both all gorgeous and tanned from spending the day at the pool.

Water

[Wava] Water: On Saturday, it took a lot of convincing and patience to get me in aunt Tara's pool. Today, I can't get enough of it. Dad and I played outside in the thing that turns around and waters the lawn. Later, we went over to the local pool and I swam in the big pool. I am really comfortable in the water now and I just need to hold on to one hand. I kick with my feet and try to swim. This evening, I tried to swim in the bathtub. When I was pulled out of the tub, I tried to climb back in and almost tumbled in, head first. But, I don't care, I love water!

At my aunt's and uncle's pool

Yesterday, we packed our swimming clothes and headed over to my aunt's and uncle's house. They were out of town, and my grandparents were dog- and house sitting. So, I guess we went over to see my grandparents and to let dad see the new pool. I wasn't so sure about getting into the water in the beginning, but then I tried riding in Mary's pool car and I was sold. Dad and I then rode in a big UFO and I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. Later, I fell asleep in the UFO. The rocking emotion was so calming and I was out like a light. Cousin Mary came over while I was napping. When I heard her, I woke up and wanted outside again.
We played and played in the pool and I had a great time. I played ball with granddad and I got pushed around and around on the floats by everyone. I also tried to swim a little. The sun was out all the time and we had to make sure we all had sun lotion on us, so we didn't get a sunburn. I would also walk around in the yard and find all the flowers and smell them. They had some big flowers and at first, I was not sure what they were - but then, of course, they were not real, they decorations in the yard.
Every now and then, we would all take a break and sit on the patio and enjoy some juice and a snack.
Aunt Christi and Uncle Steve brought salad, fruit and chocolate. The food was very good!! What a great day.Thank you everyone for great company, letting us use the pool and for great food.

Playground earlier this week

Dad is back home

You...yes, you!..... Don't you think I am very cool? With these sunshades, the girls won't be able to resist me this summer.

Dad came back home yesterday and we went to the airport to pick him up and to see all the airplanes. I was so excited to see him and I could not stop talking and giggling on the way home. And when we made it home, I was all wound up and didn't go to bed until really late. Now both dad and I are the men of the house. This morning, I went to daycare, but only for a little while. Dad picked me up early and we headed home to do yard work. We put new sand in my sandbox. First, we put the sand in the wheel barrel and then dad pushed it all the way into the back yard. I was the foreman.
Finally! New and fresh sand in my sand box. I have missed my sand sandbox.... no crunching sound when I chew and no sand in my ears. Of course I did some yard work too.
This was a somewhat eventful day today. First, I was stung by a wasp. It stung me in the back of my head. A little later, dad was stung too in the back of his head. And then, when we went to the play ground, I fell and busted my lip and had a little nose bleed. I guess, I am all boy: Bug bites all over, scraped up knees and elbows, bloody nose, busted lip, dirt under my nails, sand in my hair... you name it!
I better get going. I need to go and play with dad, he is waiting for me.
