Spending the weekend at my Grandparents'

This weeked, I am staying with my grandparents. I love it, because I get to play with grandma and granddad and they have all these different toys too. This morning, I slept in... all the way until 8am. later, we went to the mall to walk and we did 3 rounds.... even in my stroller, 3 rounds is hard. But, I got a cookie afterwards. On our way back, I fell asleep and took a good and long nap.

After I woke up again, I got to play more. Grandma and grandad got this big car. They say it's for transporting Mary and me.... lucky us!! Grandma and I went for a walk...
...then it was grandad's turn.
They also have all these indoor toys. There are lots of cars...
... and airplanes.
Grandmom and Granddad have this cool hotwheel track. The cars drive with the speed of light...Amazing.
What a great weekend.

New chair and more presents

I finally got my own chair and it's red, just like dad's. Now, mom is really going to have a heart attach. She already dislikes dad's chair and now we have two of them!!! But, I have to admit it, my chair is still much cooler than dad's, because I have a lion on mine. I am a big boy now and I can sit still and watch tv for a little while at a time now..... not too long though. My favorite dvds are Old McDonalds Farm and also Neptune.
I thought Christmas was over for this time, but I was wrong, because I got more presents last night from the mail man. I got a 'touch-and-feel' book from my godmother in the Faroes. I also got more clothes from my grandparents and uncles in Rituvík. Thank you, guys!
Dad and I were plumbers the other day. Dad had to work on some of the pipes behind our bathtub and I helped him. I don't think he could have done all this by himself.. He said himself what a good and helpful boy I was.

Christmas is over.....

... and I am counting down for the next Christmas. I have a big potato with 362 matches in it(It's kind of a children's calendar and every day, you pull out one match, until there are none left).

So, here are most of the 'small' toys, the large ones are out in our back yard. I love to play with all my toys and I'll just sit down in the middle of all of them and entertain myself for a little while. Most of the time, I'll get the popping balls and the animal train going and then I'll sit down and move things from box to box.
Here are a few pictures from our Christmas dinner. One of the guests was cousin Mary. She is a little younger than me and she was also in the hospital. I think she is almost well now. We played a little bit and she got a toy just like mine and I tried to show her how to use it. I also played a lot with cousin Mitchell. He's a big boy... and one day, I'll be a big boy, just like him.
Dad and I had a great time too. He kept tickling me and I giggled and giggled and in the end wasn't able to stand up at all.
Mom, dad and I. I was all dressed up for the occasion, wearing black dress pants, white shirt and a butterfly. Grandma said I looked like dad, when he was a little boy and wore his suits... and then she giggled.... so, I am not sure if that's good or bad, since he did look funny in his little suits. He kind of looked like a little Mini Me.

More Christmas Morning photos

Here I am again. I just want to show you some more photos of my climber and also of my new leather jacked from abba in Vestmanna. These days I zoom around the house on my new tricycle and leather jacket. I don't think you'll find anyone cooler than me!
Here are two photos and dad and I playing outside earlier today. It was a little cool and windy, so we wore our sweaters and hats.

Christmas Morning

We celebrated Christmas again today and guess what? I got more presents. I have received sooo many presents, and I love them all! I have had a great Christmas... so far. We are not done celebrating yet. Dad's side of the family is coming over tomorrow for Christmas dinner: duck and rice pudding. We have been really busy here today cooking and cleaning. I have helped mom and dad. I put up a clean towel and other wise have entertained dad all day long so that he would not bug mom in the kitchen.

Anyway, here are more photos from this morning and of some of my presents. This morning I saw that Santa had been by with presents from the North Pole and the Faroes. He's good: Sneaking in to the house in the middle of the night. He set up all my toys and didn't even wake me up.
Here are dad and I playing on the climber. I can do the slide all by myself. It's a little difficult to get up on it still, but once I am up, I make sure that I am loud enough to get everyones attention.
Now, here I am cool!!
I had fun crawling through this tube. Sometimes, I try and stand up in the middle of the tube, but that's impossible and I get really frustrated. The tube is really long and just barely fits into the den.
I have to go now. Dad is out and about again looking for trouble. I have to keep an eye on him constantly.

Christmas Eve

At our house, we celebrate Christmas and open presents on both Christmas eve (mom's tradition) and on Christmas morning (dad's tradition). On Christmas Eve, I got to open up a bunch of presents and I had a blast. It took a while to understand that I was finally allowed to peel all the gift tags and paper off the presets, but eventually I got the point and then I was constantly under the tree looking for more presents to open. This is my first present.
Dad was really excited also and I have been teaching him how to do the 'surpriced face'. I think I did a good job:
This is my 'surpriced face'. Aunt elsa taught me.
One of the gifts was a dvd player for the car. Yesterday, we drove up to Cleveland and I watched Old McDonalds farm all the way. I use earphones, that way mom and dad won't interrupt the movie.
I got a lot of other presents... a tricycle form grandma in the Faroes. I showed dad how to asemble it. It took a little while, but I was a good boy and waited patiently. When it was put together, I scooted around the house all by myself. I still prefer being pushed around.
Other presents that I got were shoes, clothes, leather jacket (and I am cool in it). CD player and CDs. Lego, cars and a lot of toys. I also got some candy... yummi.

I didn't get to open up all the presents on Christmas Eve, but had to leave a few for the following morning. But, I was also tired in the end. It's hard work opening up all those presents. But I had a great time

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Love,
Benjamin, Rakul og Carl

Dad is home!!

Daddy's home now!!!! I am already daddy's boy and I tag along where ever he goes. When ever he walks out of a room and I can't follow, I get frustrated and a little upset.

When we went to the airport to pick up dad we had to wait for a while, because there were so many other people traveling also. While we waited I played and also offered my toys and crackers to all the other people waiting.... they also looked a little hungry and bored. They all smiled back and said thank you. I made a lot of new friends at the airport.
When dad walked out, I went right over to him and gave him a big hug and then I smiled at him and told him about all the things I have done lately. But most of all, that I have been a good boy while he's was on the boat.
On our way home form the airport, we got to ride the shuttle. I loved that and watched all the cars and airplanes rush by. And then the bus was a little jumpy too.
Since dad came home we've played a lot and I have showed him all the new things I'm doing these days. We also went to Lowes... just like real men!
Christmas is right around the corner....!!!

Chicken Little

You think I look like who? Mom says I look like Chicken Little. I don't know, but I like to borrow mom's glasses and I think I look funny when I wear them
Dad will be home in 2 days and I am counting down the days until I get to see him. For now, I am still at home and grandad comes over every morning to play with me. We have a lot of fun. Today, we went to the store and I got a balloon and also a toy that shakes when I push it. We also went over to the playground and I giggled a lot. I like to hang out with grandad.

Sandbox

I finally got my sandbox. I have tried and tried to hint that I wanted a sandbox. I have been playing in the bird food box, but have you ever tried to build a bird-feed-castle? No, I didn't think so. My sandbox is pretty cool. It is a little blue beetle with wheels and eyes. I have not had a chance to spend much time in it yet, because it's been raining today. This evening, we went outside for a little bit, but I still managed to get sand everywhere.... even in my diaper. Our neighbors, Don and Rhonda, have a cat and a dog. The cat is called Cocoa and the dog is called Gracie. I love to play with them and chase them around, but they always hide when I am around. I always try and look through the fence to see of they are there and I call for Gracie.

Ok, guys, I am ready for Christmas.. what are we waiting for??

Take care

This week

Hi

just a little update on how things are going. I am feeling much better and I am about to burst of energy. There just are not enough hours in the day. I run back and forth and try to get into as many things as possible. Napping is also becoming an issue, since I'd rather spend that time exploring. I have played with mom all weekend and soon daddy will be at home and I get to play with him as well. I have no fever but I still cough. I have a follow up appointment at the doctor's on Wednesday. I hope she has some good news for me. Mom and dad have told me that I have to stay at home for at least two weeks so that I can get well before going back to dacare. But back to all my energy: Yesterday, mom had to take me for a ride in the car to get me to settle and go to sleep. Why is it so hard to understand? I do not have time for a nap!!

Here I am infront of the laptop, reading emails and blogging. I love the laptop... most of all, I love the on/off button. But I also type on the chat sometimes: sssssggggggbbbbbl+++l rrrrrrrsssssssss.
I love to blow bubbles. I have no problem dipping the stick into the soapy water, but blowing the bubbles is a little harder. Most of the time, I end up putting the stick in my mouth. Sometimes when I try and blow bubbles, there is no air coming out... only this hhhhoooo soundWaiting does not work either... those bubbles do not appear on their own. Enough bubbles. When I get tired of blowing bubbles, I rather try and fill up the bird bath with rocks and birdseeds.
Today I got a sandbox. We maneged to set it up just in time. As soon as we were done, it got dark, so I did not get to play in it.... just a little bit. But it was enough time to get sand everywhere, even my pacifier was a little crunchy. I'll take a picture of it and show you.

This weekend, Cousin Mary got admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and she was worse than I was. She got to go home today though, so she's getting better. Hugs and kisses to Mary and get well soon.

PS.... Only 7 days to Christmas eve!! There are so many presents underneath our tree!!

Eating with utensils!

It's still difficult because my hand naturally finds its way to the food on the plate. But as soon as I notice it, I shake my head and pull my hand back. And I am being told I am a good boy. Truth be told, I am really not that easy: As soon as mom turns her head, I grab some food with my fingers and eat it before she can stop me! I do use the spoon to eat with and I am getting better at it. It's still difficult to coordinate, but I am practicing every evening. This evening, I ate half the meal using my finger and the other half using my spoon. First I eye the food and decide where to dig..... Then I dig in....
Aim for the mouth...
mmmm..... pasta is still my favorite!!! peas and corn are good too..

I am still at home. today Candice came by to play with me. She is really nice and I like to play with her. She'll be back tomorrow and I look forward to that. I am getting better and am in good mood and play a lot again....

at home

Hello,

I just want to say hello and let you know I am feeling better. I sleep better, cough less and the fever has gone. I went to see the doctor today to make sure I am really improving. She said that there is still a lot of stuff in my lungs and on top of it all, one of the tubes in my ears is not working properly. So, now I am all drugged up again and also have to get the ear drops and breathing treatments. But, I am good and a big boy and I do really well taking all this medication - even when it tastes yucki. But, I am the man of the house. I am at home now and grandad comes every day to play with me. We have a lot of fun and he pushes me around on the airplane all day long.... he gets a lot of excercise these days!! (This is an old photo and from when I was little, but this is my airplane)

Tomorrow and on Friday, Candy will come over to play with me, I like her too. Next week grandad will come and play with me again and I really look forward to see him again. Mom and dad told me today that I have to stay at home for the rest of this year. That way, I can get well before I go back to daycare. I like being at home, but I also miss my friends at daycare.

Daddy will be at home in only a week!! Yeah! Then there will finally be some "man-time" around here with ESPN, Golf, Baseball and tools

Then the really important part:
- Grandma Davis: Good luck with the follow up. I am thinking about you!!!
- Great grandad Davis: Make sure you get the right glasses... you need to see how much I have grown!!
- Cousin Mary: Get well soon!!!!
- Rhiannon: Happy 1 year Birthday!!
- Aunt Elsa: I have been looking for you, but can't find you. Elmo is here, but you are not!!!

At the hospital

This week, I ended up at the hospital with pneumonia.

This week started off with a bad cold and even if I saw the doctor a couple of times, the fever just increased and I got worse and worse. I didn’t want to eat or drink, just sleep. On Saturday morning, I went to the doctor again and after checking me, she sent me to the hospital to have some x-rays taken. When the results came back, they said I had double sided pneumonia and they sent me home to pack my bags and told me to check in to another hospital in Houston. Once we made it there, there was a long wait. I was ok for a little bit, but then started to get really warm again and sleepy also. We finally got into a little examination room. I was checked all over again and again by all these different people that I didn’t like at all. I also had to do another xray and finally they came back and said that I was admitted. At that time, I was getting oxygen and IV, so I couldn’t go home.
I was then transferred to another room and this is where I slept. I tried so hard to get some rest, but the ladies came in every few hours to check on me. After a while, mom took me over on the sofa. I held on to her and I finally fell asleep and was able to get a few hours peaceful sleep.
The following day, I improved little by little. In the morning I was still feeling bad and only wanted to be held. From time to time, I tried to walk, but got frustrated by all the wires. In the end, I pulled out the IV – enough is enough!!. They tried to put it back it, but weren’t successful. I told them no more – they had tortured me enough.
Grandma and Grandad also came to stay with me. They drove all the way from Austin. They arrived shortly after I got into the hospital and stayed until late at night and then they showed up early the next morning. When I am ill, I just want to be with mom, but I really enjoyed having them there. … especially when granddad drove around with me on the floor where I stayed. We started out with the stroller and walked around and around and around……
... then in a little car....
... then in a bigger car.... (we circled the floor around 100,000 times... or at least really often)
Santa also stopped by to visit and I was only a little afraid. I didn’t cry, but was just staring at him and wondering who this guy is that keeps popping up every where these days. He gave me this little boy that prays his good night prayer when I squeeze his belly. I also got some of the little people toys. And Santa walked around and just kept laughing. What a strange guy!!!
Later, the doctor came and took a good look at me. He told me I was well enough to go home and told mom to give me medication to make me well. We waited a long time to get out of there. Maybe they just wanted to keep me around?? I slept in the car all the way home and it was so nice not to be interrupted by all these nurses. When I got to sleep in my own bed, I slept well, but had some bad dreams. This week, granddad will come over and play with me here at home until I am well enough to go to daycare to see my friends. Today, Granddad and I played a lot, we did hide and seek and he pushed me around on the airplane. I love playing with granddad. Thanks for coming to the hospital, grandma and granddad!!!
My dad is on the big boat right now and he was so concerned and called a lot to see how I was doing. I know he really wanted to be there. I am fine, daddy!! Just hurry home to play with me!!
