The day finally arrived - we were going to the Faroes. Mom picked me up at the daycare and we met with grandma and granddad at home. We stopped at Olive Garden for an early dinner and then headed for the airport. There was a short line at the counter and security. I loved all the machines at security and specially when they said beep.
We found a quiet corner close to our gate. I had a great view and waved at all the planes and workers.
I was so happy and excited to get on the big plane. They made sure I got an extra seat. At first, I was too busy to sit in it, but then I finally settled. I got to sleep on the floor and enjoyed being able to stretch out. I did so well and was a big boy.
In Amsterdam, we found a nursery with cribs and sofas. I tried to lay down for a nap, but there was too much going on around and I never took a nap - even though I'd only napped for 5 hours on the flight. Instead, we headed over to the playground and played with all the other kids
After walking around for a little bit, we found a rest area. It was empty, so I got to run around and enjoy a little freedom.
Again, I saw many many planes. Too many to count. We had to wait at the airport for 6 hours for the next flight. We tried to find an earlier one, but they were all full. Finally, we were able to fly out. I had to sit in mom's lap and I sat still and was a good boy. In Copenhagen, we went straight to the hotel in a taxi. Only later did we find out, Aunt Jenny and her family were in the area at the same time and had tried to contact us. Bummer.
The next morning, we headed back to the airport, checked in and went upstairs. Only after we made it through security did we see our flight was delayed from 8.30am to 4.15pm due to bad weather in the Faroes. We had breakfast and spent some time at the playground. The play area wasn't all that big and I got bored fairly quickly. The only thing to do was to catch a train and head into Tivoli in Copenhagen. (Tivoli is an old amusement park and a Danish landmark). I loved the train.
There were plenty of things to see and do in Tivoli: Water fountains, slides, rides, kids and lots of .
This was my favourite ride.

And, I loved the water and boats too.

After a few hours, it was time to go back and I fell asleep in the train. When I woke back up, I was back at the airport play area.

In the afternoon, the airport was a little empty and I ended up running around in the A terminal. I inspected all the doors to the gates and made sure they open and close properly. Unfortunately, our flight didn't leave at 4.15pm, but was delayed to 6.30pm, 7pm, 8pm, 9pm and so on.

The weather was so bad on the Faroes and none of the airlines' flights were able to take off. Finally we saw a familiar tail parked outside one of the A gates. It was one of the Faroese planes. We were so happy and thought this was it, we were finally going. We watched the men as they prepared the flight, but nothing happened. We then found out, this was not our flight, it was one of the other delayed flights. But little by little they all arrived, incl. ours. 9.30pm we were advised, there were two flights left. Ours was grounded, but the other was going to make an attempt to land in the Faroes. We made a quick switch and a bus took us out to the flight. 5 mins later we were up in the air. Unfortunately we never made it to the Faroes, we headed straight to Norway.

It was a good and quick flight and while we waited for the luggage, I found a friend. She loved to dig for pebbles in the big pot too.

At the Haugesund airport, a couple of buses waited for us and took us to our hotel. I got to sit up front and had a great view of all the other cars and lights passing by us. Our hotel was a really nice hotel. They had warm food ready for us and a comfortable bed with lots of pillows to play in. I didn't fall asleep until 1.15am.

This was our view the next morning - water and boats, what more could I ask for! After breakfast, our bus showed up and took us to the airport.

We met Eyð and Jon at the airport and again on our plane. Mom knows them from Vestmanna. They were super nice and liked to play with me. I enjoyed the men time with Jon and I really liked Eyð.

Otherwise there was not that much to do. I played inside and outside and watched all the other big kids play.

Again, we had to wait at the airport. They had promised better weather on the Faroes and as soon as it cleared up, we were called out to the plane. I am so used to flying by now, so I crawled up into my seat and proceeded to buckle myself in. I was a good boy during the rest of the trip and stayed in my area.

It was a beautiful sight taking off.

And even more beautiful was the first glimpse of the Faroes through the thick fog.

I wish you could have heard all the cheering when we touched ground in the Faroes. The airport was packed with outbound and inbound people. Grandma and Aunt Elsa were at the airport to pick us up. I was happy to see them, but also sad to wave bye to Eyð. I fell asleep in the car and when I woke up hours later, I had a house full of guests waiting to play with me.

I had a good, but long trip - a total of 61 hours. I made lots of new friends and I took good care of mom.
