More Halloween

The Halloween Fest continues...probably all the way until next Friday. We were up early and headed down the street to meet with Cameron and then we headed over to a local church for their Fall Festival. They had all kinds of activities: Big boxes of corn, hundreds of pumpkins, Moon walk...you name it. For this occasion, I went as a doctor.
Inside, we found all the trains. This was a big train display with four operating trains driving through tunnels, over mountains, through villages and a circus too. I stood still for half an hour and just watched all the activities going on in this little world of trains.
Cameron and I went fishing and by the time we were done, it was time for lunch: popcorn and hotdogs.
Just as we were leaving to pick up babba at the airport, John showed up with his mom, dad and baby sister. I ran over to John and then we took off into the festival area. We played for a little while, but then we really had to leave to pick up babba. (John is behind the candy corn)
We were a little early at the airport after all, so we parked and rode the yellow bus into the terminal. There, we rode the elevator up to the top parking level and stood and watched all the airplanes arrive and depart. All of a sudden, we saw a very familiar airplane - it was babba's airplane. We waved and waved to babba, but he didn't see us, because he didn't have a window seat. I was all smiles when I finally saw babba. I am still the biggest mamma's boy there is, but little by little, I am becoming a little (teeny tiny) babba's boy too.
This weekend was also the annual neighborhood pumpkin carving. Well, it is usually the kids and parents in our circle. This time, we all met in our driveway and we baked a spider cake. It even had red jello in the center, so it would bleed when we cut into it.
Everyone brought a pumpkin or two and we all had such a great time. The final results were cats, ghosts, graveyards, witches, pumpkin faces and other scary carvings.
A table full of goodies. Babbba and I sat back and relaxed after we were done with our pumpkin.Tadaaa... here are our pumpkins.... Tonight, they are sitting out in front of our house. I love getting ready for Halloween.

Halloween Party

This will be one long Halloween weekend and we will continue next weekend too.

Today, mom picked me up from daycare a little earlier than usual. We rushed home, I changed into my Superman clothes, mamma poured chips into a bowl and we headed down the street to see Cameron. Everything was decorated for Halloween at his house.
A real photographer was there and took photos of all the dressed up kids. I struck a few poses, but was very serious. No smiles today.
There were lots and lots of kids and parents. All the kids were dressed up in cool costumes. we nibbled on snacks, jumped in the inflatable house, rode bikes, played in the sandbox and all sorts of other fun activities. What a great party!
Í morgin fara vit við Cameron og hansara foreldrum til ein sovornan Halloween og heyst fest. Har vera ballónir og spøl.... gleði meg banka nógv!

Halloween masks

We went to the store today to pick up some pumpkins for Sunday's pumpkin's carving. We had to check out the Halloween section. I fell in love with all the masks and wanted to try them all on.

Back at home, we got ready for bed and I wanted to try out baby's crib for a little bit, before I went to my big boy bed.

HEB

We don't like to go grocery shopping on Sundays, since that is when everyone else does their shopping. The stores are like a zoo and a good parking spot is hard to find. But, we had to go to the store today. In the end, it turned out to be quite an experience. On our way in to the store, we met HEBuddy. He came over to greet me, but I hid behind mamma. I warmed up a little, but refused to pose with him for a picture. In the end I, mamma and the stop sign got to pose with HEBuddy.
We survived the shopping part of it and on our way out to the car, ran into all these fun activities. I did the ring toss and hit two hats. The lady said good job and gave me some candy. Then I tried fishing in the fish pond and caught a goody bag.
This inflatable Halloween decoration was my favorite. I stood there for a long time and just watched the bats fly around and around.
One of the ladies there asked me if she could paint my face. I didn't like that, but moved on to the crayons and coloring paper...... Going shopping on Sundays isn't that bad after all!
Sometimes, we all need a little make over or change of style..... Mamma needed one the other day. I put a whole sheet of stickers on her legs and then sat there and admired them for a little bit, before I moved on to decorating all the buttons on her jeans. This is so much better than just the plain legs.

Small Projects

We've been busy with small projects this last week and this weekend. One evening, as we were getting ready for bed, the door bell rang. When we opened the door, no one was there. We'd been BOOed. This is a neighborhood tradition. Someone BOOs us and the next evening, we BOO someone else. Meaning, we prepare a couple of Halloween baskets of goods and BOO signs and leave it at their front door.
Once again did my inner artist emerge and I have painted one painting a night lately. The first evening I used these small tubes with paint. Well, I wanted to really express myself and there was only enough paint for one painting. The next day, we stocked up on bottles of paint and now I have a little collection going. I call it: All shades of Brown and Dark Purple!
I may expand my horizon and explore more into body paint. This form of art tends to come very natural to me.
Karius and Baktus, here I come. Karius lives in my left lower teeth and Baktus in my right lower teeth. I'll open my mouth wide open, point and tell mamma: SSeeeeee!!!!! Every evening, I brush my teeth thoroughly, rinse and spit out Karius and Baktus in to the sink. From there, the water flushes them all the way out to the ocean. (Fyi these are two little characters from a famous Scandinavian children's book. When you don't brush your teeth, they will dig holes and build their homes in your teeth.)
We decided to stay at home today and take it easy. I had some projects that I wanted to do. One of them was testing some physics laws regarding atmospheric pressure, vacuum and water properties in general.
I filled my bucket with water and put one end of a clear rubber hose into the water. Then I siphoned the water through the hose. If I held the other end of the hose up high, no water came out of the hose. If I held it down really low, all the water ran out of the bucket, through the hose. Hm..... Strange! I don't think water likes heights!
When I was done with my experiment, I found a pair of shoes that were sitting outside. I put them in my big truck and wanted to push the truck through the house, to the hallway, where shoes are supposed to be. Mamma said no no, the truck was dirty and was not allowed in the house. Only thing to do was to get a sponge, fill my bucket with water and wash the truck. I put the shoes back in my truck and rolled it through the house to the hall way. Again, mamma said no, the truck stays outside. This time, I protested and pointed to the sparkling clean tires. I won, this one could not be argued.
We did run down to the post office for some packages from the Faroes. The line was long and slow moving. Since I don't like too much down time, I grabbed a pen and some insurance, packaging and other slips and started writing letters to different people. I put them all in a big, red padded envelope and gave them to mamma to pass on to the mailman. Back home, we opened the packages and found many birthday presents inside. I wanted to open them up so badly, but mamma said no. These are my happy-to-you-presents and I can have them when I turn three. I have waited and waited so patiently all day today and I have asked a hundred times if I am three now? But no, I am still only two. We have to put many more Xs in the calendar before I turn three.

Good and bad days

Saturday morning, we were up early, picked up donut holes and headed over to the park to meet with John and his mom. The weather was great and while we enjoyed our breakfast, we watched all the new moms with babies in their strollers line up and start exercising. John and I joined in on some of the arm exercises. The play date started out great and we had so much fun, but then I decided that everything was mine and I was not sharing. I was furious if someone played with my ball or sat in my swing or didn't do as I told them. I even wanted to take over John's new remote controlled car. In the end, we left the park and John - way too early. The rest of the morning was the same, I wanted to decide everything at home and got my self into all these situations that I was too frustrated to handle. So... we headed outside to wash mamma's car inside and out. Usually, this is something that I love to do... and I did... it just took us almost 3 hours, since there were a lot of distractions along the way. The final and major distraction was when I decided to pull out the big and heavy carpet-mount for the vacuum. I dropped it right on my left foot and got a big bo-bo on my foot and toes. At first, we were afraid, one of my toes was broken, but after ice, band aids and half an hour worth of cuddling on the sofa, both my foot and mood improved.Mid afternoon and I started to get sleepy, but flat out refused to take a nap. Instead, I sat down for a snack. I put my head down on the table and was out in seconds. I don't know why I was in such a bad mood that day? I guess we all have our bad days and sometimes, it is just hard being little in a big world.
Sunday turned out to be a much better and happier! We relaxed during the morning and around lunch, we headed down to Cameron. The plan was for us to make little ghosts for Halloween, but we weren't interested. In stead, we read all of Cameron's train books. I was a good boy and shared and played with Cameron with out saying Mine! once.
John's mom gave us a big bag of baby clothes on Saturday and we decided to sort and put them up on Sunday. Thank you for all the clothes, John's mom! John has a little baby sister too and she is now 3 months old. We folded the clothes and put them on the shelves. I had my own little pile of clothes that I folded and put up. I like space and put one piece of clothing on each shelf. When the shelves were full, I managed to hang some of the clothes on hangers and hung them on the door knobs in the bedrooms. I really look forward to baby arriving, all though I am not sure I fully understand everything at this point.

Colorado Springs

We spent last weekend and part of last week up in Colorado Springs. We had delayed the trip a couple of weeks due to the hurricane. Finally, I got to ride an airplane again! There is nothing like an apple juice on the rocks!
We found out hotel, unpacked and then headed back out to do some sight seeing. We headed up into the mountains and enjoyed the fresh air and view.
A short, little hike.
Seven Step Waterfall
Cheese!!!
After a long day...zzzzzzzz.
Garden of the Gods.
Since I am about to completely give up my diaper, I had to find a quiet corner :)
Mountain climbers were climbing up and down all over the big rocks. Babba and I also tried to climb a little, but we didn't get that far up.

One cool dude! Check out my moves! I tried on all the caps and then did my little dance up and down the aisle!
Pikes Peak! 14,110 ft!
We decided to drive all the way up to the top. We had to drive slowly and it took around an hour to reach the top. At around 11,500ft, I started feeling bad and just got worse as we made our way up the mountain. It was the altitude that got to me. So, babba took a few pics and we rushed back down the mountain side. Slowly, I started feeling better again.
Half way down, we came by this gorgeous spot. Pikes Peak is in the back ground, to the left with some snow.
Of course, we paid Santa and the North Pole a visit.
Babba and I were Vikings in the toy store!
We ended up riding most of the rides.
And drove the cars, trains and ski lift too.
We paid Santa a visit. I had talked about Santa all morning, but when I sat in his lap and he asked if I had been a good boy and what I wanted for Christmas, I wouldn't utter a word. I just sat and looked at him!
We stopped for some mini golf on our way home. Babba won and mamma and I shared the second place. I hit the ball once and if it didn't roll close enough to the hole, I just picked it up and placed it a couple of inches away from the hole and hit again. Of course, I scored a lot of "2s" and even got an (honest) hole in one.
What better than ending such a good day at Hooters? The girls were so sweet and friendly with me. I received a balloon and a little rubber duck. Again, I ended up being very shy around them.
Royal Gorge Bridge.
The world's steepest incline railway took us down to the Arkansas river.
The bridge is way up there.
Mamma and I waiting for the rail to take us back up.
Back up on top and enjoying the view. Unfortunately, babba's camera broke and we had to get a disposable camera. The quality is therefore not the greatest. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see a little red dot. This is the aerial tram, traveling over the river.
Here is the bridge itself. Built in 1929, flooring is wooden planks with little gaps between them... a nice, little reminder that it's only 1200 ft down!

Babba tried the Skycoaster.
Long ways down to the river!
After passing bison, elk, riding a horse, we came to a cowboy city.
We visited all the houses. And we saw this angry man in the jail.
Babba and I taking a break in the out house.
Crossing the bridge!
The day is just not complete with out a train ride.
And paying the big train a visit!
US Air force Academy. We saw at least 10 different kinds of airplanes.

Five days, full of activities, car rides, walks...I was worn out and passed out. It was nice to relax out in the fresh air, on the top of a little mountain/park.
When we finally made it to the airport in the afternoon, I was so wound up from the anticipation of getting to ride an airplane again and I was well rested too. Nothing could calm me down. I spoke non stop during the two hour flight home. Two whole hours about plans, cars, busses, trains, santa og other things, we saw. What a great vacation!
